RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:

Jonathan is currently a non-executive director of Burger King New Zealand and a Board Advisor to Bras N Things. He has been Chairman of Barbeques Galore, Super A-Mart, Just Group and ADR. These positions build on his 25 years experience in Australian retail.

He is also an advisor to a number of family businesses and serves on the board of Australian Business Volunteers.

Jonathan was CEO and Managing Director of OPSM Group (2001-2003); during this period, he transformed the company from an optical and safety equipment company to one of the world’s leading optical retailers.

His corporate career includes a number of senior executive and board roles, such as CEO Australia of Brierley Investments (1997-1999), non-executive director of James Hardie Industries, Deputy Chairman of John Fairfax Holdings (1998-2003), and Chairman of Austotel, Vox Retail Group and Australian Consolidated Investments.

From 1993-1997, Jonathan was Managing Director of Freedom Furniture, where he steered the development of the Freedom ‘lifestyle concept’, an expansion into New Zealand and a successful listing on the ASX.

Earlier corporate experience included joining Hanimex/Nashua/Gestetner Group in 1990 as Managing Director of Hanimex Holdings (Australasia). He went on to become CEO of Hanimex Corporation and Gestetner Australasia, and then CEO of Gestetner Asia-Pacific.

Previous experience includes senior positions with McDonald’s and Cellarmaster Wines. He first began his career as a marketer in the wine industry.
